Lauren Ramey: My Journey to Grand Rapids Natural Health
Written by: Lauren Ramey, Holistic Esthetician
My name is Lauren Ramey and I have a passion for skin! Yes, that would make me the new esthetician and newest team member of Grand Rapids Natural Health. I am excited to share with all of you what I find enticing about the skin, the products I use in my services, and so much more! Over the past five years, I have been on a personal journey to live a healthy lifestyle. I say journey because there is always going to be room for improvement; something to build on to make me better. Currently, I practice stress reduction, incorporate a plate of colorful food, love lending a helping hand, and enjoy loving on my skin! I want my skin to reflect my spirit, that which is beautiful!
During my college years, one of my family members was diagnosed with an illness. It was at that point I become interested in everything health related. I was intrigued by what we were putting in and on our bodies and how that was affecting us. I knew in that moment I wanted to practice a healthy lifestyle for myself, while passing a piece of my passion along to others. In 2014 I graduated from Aquinas College with a bachelors in business and then moved to Arizona to become an Esthetician (skincare specialist), where I attended the South West Institute of Natural Esthetics.
When picturing my future, I knew I wanted to work somewhere where I could expand my knowledge in all aspects of health and I wanted to work with holistic products that I believed in. I am elated to say I landed both. I try to live life in the moment and thus far the pieces to the puzzle keep fitting together. I am delighted to be working at Grand Rapids Natural Health, surrounded by many talented women, who I can gain knowledge from along my journey. I could not have dreamed of a better product line to get my hands messy with. KPS Essentials, a local organic skincare line, truly are special and my skin sings every morning and evening because of it!
Let’s face it; the skin is the largest organ of the body and our protector. The skin tells us a lot about our overall health and I don’t believe we give it enough credit. The skin and the skin industry are much more complex and fascinating than most people would think. I am learning more and being inspired daily. I hope some of you will join me as I continue to grow, learn, and share in my knowledge of this fascinating organ.
