Frequently Asked Questions - Dave JOhnson, mD
How much will it cost? Is it covered by insurance? What if I have no insurance?
Dave Johnson, MD- Integrative medicine is not considered a reimbursable service by Medicare, Medicaid or traditional third party insurance. Given the lack of reimbursement for such comprehensive evaluation we have chosen not to participate with insurance plans, networks or Medicare and Medicaid. Thus these services are considered out-of-network and it becomes your responsibility to determine if you can apply for any such reimbursement as an out-of-network benefit. We will be happy to provide you with the documentation you might need to apply for such reimbursement. Most clients will pay with cash, check or credit card. Health Savings Accounts and/or Flex Spending Accounts are another option you should explore as integrative medicine and preventive medicine strategies are excellent uses of this service.
Naturopathic Consultations- Due to a lack of licensure in the State of Michigan, Naturopathic Medicine Consultations are not covered by insurance and cannot be submitted for reimbursement. We are able to accept Flex Spending and Health Savings accounts and also offer payment plans.
